AFRI Releases Request for Proposals

The United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute for Food and Agriculture has released its 2011 Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) Request for Applications.  For food safety and nutrition disciplines, there are three priority areas: physical and molecular mechanisms of food contamination; function and efficacy of nutrients; and improved processing technologies.

Letters of intent are due before February 20, 2011, and applications are due by May 2, 2011.

Total program funds are approximately $11 million.
