Putting Your Plan to
Work
It’s D-Day. The phone has rung at home and you’ve learned that a worker on the second shift has been seriously injured. Now what?
You may have two hours or only 20 minutes before you must begin to address this crisis with employees and the outside world. Time is of the essence, and this is where your pre-planning really pays off.
Once information indicating a potential crisis reaches a member of the CMT, that member should convene the CMT immediately. Crisis Resource Books should be brought to the meeting and the specific crisis plan should be referenced.
If no plan exists for that specific crisis, the CMT should refer to the basic elements of crisis management and proceed.
