More Than 16,000 Attend Joint Conventions and Expos in Dallas
Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Washington D.C. -- The
American Meat institute (AMI) today announced
that more than 16,000 people travelled to
Dallas to attend the joint conventions and
expos of AMI, Food Marketing Institute (FMI),
United Fresh Produce Association and National
Associations of State Departments of
Agriculture. The shows took place
from May 1-3, 2012 at the Dallas Convention
Center in Dallas, Texas.
“Feedback from the show overall
was positive and both exhibitors and attendees
appreciated the co-location of our show with
others,” said Anne Halal, AMI vice president
for convention and
expositions.
Plans are fully under way for
AMI’s 2013 International Meat Expo, which will
take place in Atlanta. AMI offered
exhibit space sales onsite in Dallas,
recruiting and upgrading more than 40 new
companies to exhibit in 2013.
“As of today, we are 80 percent
sold for the 2013 Expo. We have more than
450 companies with 250,000 square feet of space
sold on the processing side alone,” Halal said.
AMI President and CEO J. Patrick
Boyle commented, “It is clear that the meat and
poultry industries support AMI’s new colocation
with the poultry show. We are committed
to providing a great opportunity to our
suppliers to reach the most buyers at one
place.”
In 2011, AMI announced that it
would co-locate with the International Poultry
Expo and the International Feed Expos, creating
one of the largest protein management shows in
the world, the International Production and
Processing Expo (IPPE). IPPE is scheduled
for January 29-31, 2013, at the Georgia World
Congress Center, in Atlanta. More
