The American Meat Institute
(AMI) today announced a new health insurance
affinity program aimed at providing
comprehensive, affordable health insurance for
member companies and their employees.
In
developing this new program, AMI partnered with
Mass Marketing Insurance Consultants (MMIC), a
firm with 30 years experience developing
customized insurance programs for companies.
MMIC has contracted nationally with a number of
health insurance companies to provide a wide
variety of major medical, life insurance,
disability and dental coverage.
Coverage is available to all companies
with two or more employees. The cost of
coverage may be paid in whole by the employer
or shared with the employees. However, the
employer’s contribution must be at least 50
percent of the total cost. AMI has negotiated a
competitive price guarantee.
“Health
insurance premiums paid by employers increased
an average of 9.2% in 2005, according to the
2005 Annual Employer Health Benefits Survey
just released by the Kaiser Family Foundation
and Health Research and Educational Trust,”
said AMI President J. Patrick Boyle. “We hope
that his program will help our members obtain
competitive pricing and outstanding coverage
for their employees.
