Major Media Outlets Join Push for RFS Waiver

Newspapers nationwide joined in the call for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to grant waivers of the Renewable Fuel Standard’s ethanol mandate. The editorials follow requests from the governors of Maryland, Delaware, Arkansas and North Carolina; 156 members of the U.S. House of Representatives; 34 U.S. Senators and a coalition of livestock, poultry, meat, dairy and feed organizations who have argued that an RFS waiver is needed to help provide relieve from high corn prices caused by the mandate and the drought.
Newspapers editorializing in favor of a waiver over the last several days include the Kansas City Star, St. Louis Post Dispatch, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Indiana Republic and Chicago Tribune. The editorials may be found at the following links:
