AMI Unveils Fundamentals of Sustainability Training SeriesMonday, April 23, 2012
(American Meat Institute)
The American Meat Institute has launched a Fundamentals of Sustainability training series that will serve as a guide to member companies through the development and implementation of a sustainability program in seven short individual video lessons.
Beginning with a basic introduction to the many facets of sustainability, the lessons quickly move into "Building the Business Case for Sustainability," integrating core company values and putting a team in place to identify opportunities and setting goals. The final lessons address measurement and continuously improving a sustainability program, and conclude with communicating sustainability successes. The 7- to 8-minute lessons are easily understood and based on successful programs already proven in the meat and poultry industry.
“This important tool will improve awareness across the board and is an essential addition to our industry efforts to embrace sustainable practices,” said Leigh Ann Johnston, EHS Training, Communication &Sustainability Manager at Tyson Foods and AMI Sustainability Committee member.
