The South Korean beef market will officially open to U.S. exports from cattle
30 months of age or less at 5 a.m. (EDT) tomorrow, it was reported today by the
U.S. Department of Agriculture.
"We are extremely pleased to again
have the opportunity to serve the Korean market after an extended absence," said
AMI President J. Patrick Boyle. "The facts clearly demonstrate U.S. beef safety.
We are gratified that now consumers in Korea will again have access to our
products."
Companies that are eligible to export to South Korea may begin
slaughter after 5 a.m. on July 10. The Agricultural Marketing Service
(AMS) will post a list of eligible companies and the QSA requirements later
