HIKE Scenario on Egregious Electrical Stunning Available

A new Humane Interactive Knowledge Exchange (HIKE) scenario designed to improve in-plant humane handling and slaughter procedures is now available online from the Food Safety and Inspection Service's (FSIS) Technical Services Center (TSC).
This scenario gives advice and instruction on how inspectors should handle a noncompliance with respect to 9 CFR 313.30 (a) (4), which states that a stunned animal “shall remain in a state of surgical anesthesia through shackling, sticking and bleeding.” To view this scenario, click here http://www.fsis.usda.gov/FSIS_Employees/HIKE_02D-08/index.asp
