NBC Today Show Kicks Off National Hot Dog Day Today With Segment Featuring Council Information

NBC’s Today Show kicked off today as National Hot Dog with a two minute segment featuring National Hot Dog Sausage Council facts and figures.  The segment posed trivia question to viewers, detailed the top hot dog-eating cities and asked viewers to Tweet their preferences for #mustard or #ketchup.

The segment also featured the legendary Clint Eastwood Sudden Impact clip in which he declares, “Nobody, and I mean nobody, puts ketchup on a hot dog.” 

Meanwhile, dozens of local TV stations nationwide aired National Hot Dog day stories and customers , including 7-Eleven and Sonic, featured special National Hot Dog Day deals. The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council also highlighted hot dog etiquette tips in a new Buzz Feed post, "13 Ways You've Been Eating Hot Dogs All Wrong."
