The Public Affairs and Professional Development department handles communication with the media, policy makers and the public on behalf of AMI’s member companies. The department also manages the educational aspects of the AMI’s conferences and conventions. |

The Department of Administration, Convention and Member Services oversees the administrative operations of the Institute, educational courses and resources, foodservice and retail marketing activities, supplier services and member services and projects. In addition, the department coordinates the biennial AMI International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Convention and Exposition. |

AMI Foundation (AMIF) is a non-profit research, education and information Foundation established by the American Meat Institute to study ways the meat and poultry industry can produce better, safer products and operate more efficiently. Since its inception in 1992, AMIF has been awarded more than $5 million in research funds from a number of funding sources. AMIF employs experts in science, education and communications to manage research projects and to translate research findings into useful educational opportunities and informational resources for the industry and the public. |

The Department of Legislative Affairs acts as the meat and poultry industry's representative on Capitol Hill. The department also manages the AMI Political Action Committee (AMI-PAC) and publishes the Washington Insider Newsletter. In addition, the department coordinates and sponsors educational tours and briefings focusing on issues important to the meat and poultry industry for congressional staff. |
